Mikko Von Bremen

Visiting Fellow

Mikko is a Doctoral student at the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Bielefeld researching constructions and (geo)political imaginaries of the Arctic in science and politics. Previously he worked for four years as a Project Coordinator in the Nordic Countries Project of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Riga and Stockholm focusing on Nordic and EU relations, Arctic and Baltic Sea Region security and Finnish politics.

Mikko holds a Master’s degree in Baltic Sea Region Studies (Social Science) from the University of Tartu, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Jena. His research interests include foreign and security policy of the Nordic countries, critical geopolitics and international cooperation in the Arctic region.
